My Project

Our school has started doing a monthly reward store for students! They get to use reward points they've earned for: positive behavior, respecting others, good effort and kindness! Students will get to bring their school bucks to shop for items in the store! The items are priced at different amounts so students area eager to earn bucks as often as possible! We set the store up like a grocery store and the kids get to browse and check out the price tags!

Many of our students don't have very many things that are their own.

This shop allows them to have just that! They get to spend time browsing the shop with their friends before choosing their items. They absolutely love it and it's the most exciting day of the month for the whole school!

As you can imagine, stocking the store is expensive because we have around 350 students. Staff has donated items and bought items but our stock is officially out! There is a very small budget for these kinds of things because of all of the other demands. Our teachers provide all of the school supplies to most of our students each year. We also provide backpacks and coats for many kids, as well as clothing and shoe vouchers. Funding is used for curriculum and those types of things. So it doesn't leave much for the fun stuff.

Our hope is to be able to stock the store each month through May and then begin a stockpile for next school year. We need fidget toys, erasers, pens, finger lights, bracelets, sensory toys and stress balls.
