This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

The printer I use belongs to the school and uses black ink only, leaving me to print in color at the store. Since printing from the store is very costly, I'm in need ink for the printer Donors Choose granted me so I can print in color.

My goal is to print activities for my special needs students who are Autistic.

These children need pictures to communicate and learn important vocabulary. So, I create lots of picture matching projects for my students. I usually print out in color, cut and laminate. It's time consuming but the final outcome seeing these students learn over comes the time I put into it. I also, ensure I prepare my student for future community services where they can have tools such as pictures to communicate with the community.

Finally, my students will benefit from the color ink printer since it uses lots of pictures is vital to this age group. Students with autism need to see pictures for transitions and theme-related activities. Students will be able to see pictures with clarity in color.
