My Project
Thanks to your donations thus far, I have been able to to create a thriving classroom library. It has been so nice to see students take home books over the Spring Break holidays or take them out in class to read.
My goal is to continue to expand our classroom library so that students can read about topics that interest them in both English and Spanish.
I teach two different levels of Spanish and have both novice learners and native speakers. In my wishlist, I have included a variety of nonfiction and fiction texts about topics of interest (in both English and Spanish) - nonfiction texts about a variety of topics (the periodic table, whales and baseball) and books about historical figures (Maya Angelou and Roberto Clemente). My students love Spider-Man so I have added quite a few of the Miles Morales comics. There are children's books, short stories, graded readers and even more advanced novels (for my heritage/native speakers). I have also included a bookcase to house this growing collection of books.
