My Project

It is that time of the year again! My students enjoyed "Pet Adoption Day" last year. I have turned pet adoption day into a yearly tradition because it brings so much joy to my students! Adopting plush pets is a great way to encourage students to read daily. I created a project in the past to adopt pets. It was absolutely one of my favorite projects I have ever submitted! Before pet adoption day I explained to my students their responsibility of taking care of their pets. They were so excited when Pet Adoption Day finally arrived. They were able to name and pick their own pets. The only responsibility they had was to read to their pet for 20 minutes daily. Students were able to show so much growth thanks to the project last year. I would like for students to read for pleasure and not only if they are assigned something to read. Thank you in advance for supporting my classroom!
