My Students

I have the wonderful privilege of teaching an amazing group of energetic fourth graders. Each day my students eagerly show up ready to learn something new. They are positive, diligent and motivated. Plain and simple, they love being in school and they love to learn.

My Project

Chess is a beautiful game that enhances student learning! It brings players together in a wonderfully engaging way that builds sportsmanship, confidence, and develops critical thinking. As my students learn about the game and play, they are learning life skills in the process.

One of my favorite quotes about chess says, "You may learn much more from a game you lose than from a game you win" - Jose Raul Capablanca.

Playing chess requires students to use their problem solving skills. They must, think, plan, and execute moves. They must learn to think critically and have patience in the process. Above all else, students have fun while learning!
