Painting is powerful and playful for kindergarteners. I need your help creating a painting center. My old easel was well used and loved but is no longer safe and had to be discarded.
I teach full day kindergarten to 23 five and six-year-old students.
Our class is located on the island of Oahu. I have a variety of learners within my inclusion kindergarten classroom. My students are constantly creating, constructing and using their artistic talents. Some students love to create very detailed art work and others love to explore and mix colors.
My Project
I love to set up easel painting for students to paint freely during center time. I am fortunate to have a grassy area outside my classroom that is perfect for kindergarten appropriate water play and painting. Since my easel broke, I am unable to set up painting in the grass. My students need an easel, paint, painting center, paper and new paint brushes. Painting is a powerful activity for kindergarteners. Painting helps foster creativity, builds fine and gross motor skills, encourages communication and is an outlet for children to express themselves.
As I prepare my classroom for a new bunch of kindergarteners, I realized I need your help to make easel painting possible for my new class.
With your help, I will be able to provide painting opportunities to my new class daily. Painting is an engaging activity that all kindergarteners enjoy.
