This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students range from Pre-K to 5th grade and they are inquisitive, adventurous, and collaborative. They enjoy asking questions, taking things apart and putting them back together, and creating something from scratch.
These young Computer Scientists will be the artists, inventors, problem solvers, and teachers of the future.
There will be endless ways for them to change the world for good. What students learn, experience, and explore in Computer Science class is just the beginning!
My Project
By participating in this professional development opportunity as a Computer Science educator, I will bring back my experiences and new knowledge to strengthen Computer Science class for all elementary students from Pre-K to 5th grade.
Deepening my theoretical knowledge of programming and robotics for elementary learners as well as exploring the vast array of available technology will boost student learning and daily experiences in the Computer Science classroom.
All students should have access and the opportunity to participate in Computer Science that is built into their schedule, interest driven, culturally relevant, and meaningful to them. Participating in this professional development opportunity will help amplify the current learning activities and coding challenges in our Computer Science classroom.
