My Students

Did you every play an instrument while you were in school? Did you wish you had played or continued playing longer than you did?

My students are fifth grade beginning band and orchestra students who are about to begin their own musical journey.

Over seventy percent of the students in fifth grade participate in instrumental music, and they are very eager to learn!

The demographic of our school is changing. Many of our students now receive free or reduced price lunch and rely on the school to supply an instrument and/or supplies their first year.

My Project

My students need some basic supplies to continue playing in band and orchestra. The cellists need endpin rests to prevent the cello from sliding around while they play. There is a need for a new violin case to replace the one that is being held together with duct tape.

In addition, we need to have a couple of spare reeds and strings on hand for 'emergencies'.

The flutists need cleaning rods for their instruments.

Finally, they would appreciate the opportunity to perform a new selection at our spring concert in May. The "Bingo" arrangement will be a recognizable, fun, and educational piece to learn to play.
