Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students that I work with are hard-working and ready to learn. These students are struggling with math in their general education classroom. The regular classroom instruction is not working for them and they are not understanding the concepts being taught. They will greatly benefit from physical manipulatives to help them make sense of the abstract mathematics.

My Project

These materials will be used to help students at multiple grade levels that are struggling and need mathematics intervention. Research has shown that when students can concretely build and visualize mathematical ideas, they create a better understanding of numbers.

Our students want to better understand math, and hands-on manipulatives are the best way to do this.

Help us build our library of manipulatives and math games to strengthen student understanding and bring joy to mathematics! When students understand better, not only do they perform better in class, but they are more confident and willing to take risks and try new, sometimes "scary" math problems!
