Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As an upcoming first-year special education teacher, I am excited to create a classroom where every student feels supported, successful, and eager to learn. My students will have a variety of learning needs and abilities, and I am committed to providing hands-on, sensory-friendly, and engaging activities that meet them where they are academically, socially, and developmentally. I love seeing students gain confidence when learning feels interactive, meaningful, and enjoyable rather than frustrating.

Resources such as 1–10 Counting Cans, Count & Clean Dust Bunnies, and Fox in the Box will help support early math, counting, matching, alphabet recognition, fine motor development, and problem-solving skills through play-based learning.

These manipulatives and sensory tools will help students stay focused, regulated, and actively engaged while allowing them to learn in ways that best fit their individual strengths and learning styles within our SPED classroom.

The Sensory Table will be an essential part of our classroom, providing students with opportunities for sensory exploration, hands-on learning, and self-regulation. It will support fine motor development, social interaction, and calming sensory experiences that are especially important for students with diverse learning and sensory needs. Additionally, TPT Gift Cards will allow me to access differentiated, standards-aligned resources, visual supports, communication tools, and individualized activities tailored to my students’ academic and developmental goals. These resources will help me create meaningful, accessible lessons that meet the unique needs of every learner and foster a positive, engaging SPED classroom environment.
