This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My fifth grade students are hard-working, highly energetic, and they do well in attendance especially when they know it is a Physical Education day! As their main elementary school teacher, I provide my students with PE a few times a week. They truly look forward to PE with so much excitement!. They all love being outdoors and learning how to play sports together.

The resources you provide will support my students with equipment they will use during Physical Education.

Currently, our class does not have football, basketballs or volleyballs even though our campus has two basketball courts, two volleyball courts, and space for football.

My goal for this project is to teach my students how to properly play basketball and volleyball. The equipment will allow more students during the PE period an opportunity to practice dribbling or volleying the ball. I predict that the equipment resources will positively impact my class attendance.

My students are special because they enjoy school, they try hard, and they are so kind and respectful. The chance to play basketball and volleyball will keep the students engaged throughout the day, and the chance to make better use of these play areas at our school by playing the sports with official rules will make the students’ physical education meaningful.
