My Students

The magic and excitement of learning is often found in hands on science. As part of the core curriculum they learn about the life sciences, earth sciences and physical sciences. One activity they do is to find different rocks and then identify them. They love to pretend they are archaeologists!

My students are curious, enthusiastic, hard-working, and respectful.

I have a mix of students in my class this year. Some of them are living below the poverty line and some come from middle class families. Some students show up every day ready to master the biggest task of their life: their education, while others are lucky to show up at all.

My Project

Having a laptop computer in the classroom would enable students with multiple modalities to work at their desks while learning about science. Each year the students are asked to bring into class different samples of rocks and plants to identify. They enjoy science so much they often ask to stay in from recess so they can learn more. If we had a laptop computer, they could work in groups and bring the computer to their desks to research information.

As a teacher who is passionate about what she teaches, it is my goal to communicate my passion to my students.

Technology allows me to show students just how exciting, ever-changing, and dynamic science really is. Please help fund our request for a laptop computer.
