Ms. DeSorbo from Spring Lake NC is requesting reading nooks, desks & storage through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need the watch and record plant lab and soil to learn the life cycle of plants, and they need the mobile bookshelves to store their plants indoors or outdoors.

Wow! I cannot believe that I am almost finished with my fourth year of teaching! Time sure does fly by when you are doing something that you love! I teach kindergarten, and I have such an amazing group of superheroes this year! I have been blessed with such smart, caring, and affectionate students!
My students attend a public Title I school where we serve military and non-military students.
At times, my students may not have what they need, but they come to class excited and eager to learn! My superheroes are unique in their own abilities and what they bring to the classroom! They work together as a team, and together they have tackled the obstacles of learning how to read, write, and add and subtract! I am proud of the leaders that have emerged in my classroom!
I strive to create a classroom that is hands-on, engaging, safe, and fun! I strive to give my superheroes every experience that is at my disposal! They are what push me to be the best teacher that I can be! They have truly left an imprint on my heart!
My students are curious by nature, and they love to learn about the world around them. Recently, we went on a nature walk in our own backyard-at our school! My superheroes absolutely loved it! They loved the idea of being outside with nature and seeing the different types of bugs, trees, and flowers all around them! I allowed them to collect items that they found interesting. When we returned to the classroom, they couldn't wait to share what they had found! I would love to continue this journey into nature and allow my superheroes to learn about the lifecycle of a plant!
The watch and record plant lab, soil and shelves that I am requesting will allow my students the opportunity to see how a plant grows first hand in the classroom!
I am requesting 4 plant labs so that all of my students will get to plant a seed in a vase and watch it grow from a seedling into a plant. My students will get to see first hand each stage of the lifecycle of the plant. They will also get to record their observations using the journal that is included in the kit. Lastly, the will get to label the parts of the plant using the static cling labels that come with the kit. The soil is needed to plant the seeds in the vases. Along with the kits and soil, I am requesting two shelves that will serve as the storage for the 16 vases. The shelves are on casters, so they are mobile and can be wheeled outdoors if needed.
I am excited to embark on this journey into a school garden with my superheroes! To future donors, please help this project get funded! I know my students will love this hands-on experience! Thank you!
