Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This school is composed of mainly Hispanic students. Most of these students do not have access to technology. Due to the Cyber attack that our district suffered a couple months back we are very limited at school to what websites we can access. I need to be able to access multiple websites that are now blocked on the district Wifi to teach Spanish to my students. There are many websites that help to support the acquisition of a new language that I can't access to include in my lessons and help my students. The Smart Board will help me project them through my iPad and that ways students will have access to those websites while in class. The students will also be able to come up to the Smart Board and write on it, write sentences in Spanish and complete demonstrate knowledge of the language by interacting through the SMART board.

Technology definitely plays a large role for my students right now.

They have been forced to learn via technology for the past years due to Covid-19. All of my students have an outdated district borrowed device. These devices don't have the technological speed or upgrade to even allow students to access most language age appropriate apps, that can be useful for their continuous academic growth. It is almost impossible for each of my students to acquire an appropriate device for classroom or home use. I instead am trying to offer them an interactive Smart Board that can bring them the technological resources they need to continue their academic growth. This Smart Board will make the Learning Process More Fun, and Increases the Level of Engagement between me and my students.
