The art supplies requested will help our students create art masterpieces. Since art requires consumable goods, there is always a need for more brushes, paint, and canvases. The students asked for watercolor paper to try their hand at a new medium and the duct tape will be part of a paper mache project that the students want to create.
The opportunity to paint and create also helps reduce students’ social and emotional anxiety by creating a community in which they can learn new ways to express themselves.
While the students are in an art class, it is about experimenting with the mediums, styles, and techniques to express their artistic visions. The art teacher encourages students to use their art to explore their feelings, calm down, and create a community of artists who are willing to try new processes.
One outcome of this artistic support team is that they have extended beyond the classroom to provide Panther Paint, Pizza, and Punch nights. The supplies will be used to continue these community paint nights. These nights allow friends, family, and community members the opportunity to be create works of art together and spark creativity.
Our students appreciate the opportunity to create art and would utilize the supplies to improve their artistic endeavors. They are talented artists who use the art mediums to share their voices with the world.
