When students first saw them, they lit up—they became kids again, excitedly drawing and coloring before we even started our lessons! What started as pure joy has transformed into powerful learning. Students can sketch functions, parabolas, and coordinate planes before formalizing them. These boards allow them to draw angles, triangles, polygons, and experiment with transformations (rotations, reflections, translations). Student can draft out their work or ideas before putting it permanently on their paper.\r\n\r\nStudents are also using colored pencils to add color to their math work, which helps them visualize concepts more clearly and retain what they've learned. For example, students can use different colors to distinguish between measurements, angles, and dimensions. This visual approach has noticeably improved their understanding and confidence.\r\n\r\nThe calculators have made students more efficient during problem-solving, allowing them to focus on understanding the math rather than getting bogged down in tedious calculations. This is especially important as they prepare for apprenticeships where accuracy and speed both matter.\r\n\r\nThank you again for believing in our students and investing in their futures. Your generosity is directly preparing them for meaningful careers.","fullyFundedDate":1768961320291,"projectUrl":"project/building-math-confidence-with-essential/10007594/","projectTitle":"Building Math Confidence With Essential Classroom Supplies","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. GINGRICH","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9363691"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_67785","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":164,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":51,"percentIndigenous":3,"percentLatinx":31,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":60.0,"schoolId":67785,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Carson High School Silver Campus on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Carson High School Silver Campus","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/nevada/carson-city-school-district/pioneer-high-school/67785"}
