Help me give my students some books from our favorite series to make our classroom even more Pinkerrific as students build their reading fluency and comprehension skills!
The Pinkalicious book series by Victoria Kann is a fan favorite in our classroom every year! This year is no different...EXCEPT, this particular group of students love the main character, Pinkalicious more than any group ever has before!
These books will be highly motivating as students finish off the year becoming strong independent readers!
These books will give students the opportunity to build their independent reading stamina as they "read to self" during the Daily 5 with a book series that they know and love!
I ordered 2-4 copies of each book so we will be able to use them in small, teacher-led groups in addition to students reading them independently.
Students can also read them to and with a partner! We have been working on posting to our Class Dojo portfolios so students will be able to read to and with a partner and then post it to their portfolios for their grown ups to see as well!
There are many opportunities for students to use these Pinkalicious books to build their confidence as they become better and better readers as we near the end of Kindergarten.
My goal as a Kindergarten teacher is to give students a love of learning that will carry them forward in their educational journey and last a lifetime. Providing materials such as a favorite book series is a great way to do that! It pulls students in and engages them as they work hard to read something all by themselves that they know we have read together.
Students love to read books and then fill out story maps showing the characters, setting and beginning, middle and end.
