This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My classroom is filled with eager students that are learning, improving, and mastering both Spanish and English. Students are part of a dual-immersion second grade classroom with a main focus on Spanish instruction throughout most subject areas and English instruction in subjects like science. It is always amazing to see the growth students have made in the language and how they use those skills in English. It is rewarding seeing students be enthusiastic about using Spanish in many subjects like reading, math, writing, social studies, and science.They are always eager to learn and do their best!

My Project

All of my students are allowed to work in different parts of the classroom when doing reading, math, and writing. As learners we learn better in different settings; some students focus more when doing work on the carpet, at their desk, or at a table. In my classroom there are two small pillows and students love to use them when doing their work! They like to sit on them on the carpet or even put them on their chairs. It helps motivate them to do their work and to be comfortable! I want to provide my students with these kinds of materials because I want to accommodate their different learning styles.

It would be awesome to have more of these pillows in the classroom, since a lot of students want to use them but there are only two in the classroom.

This will enhance the environment in the classroom and provide a better learning atmosphere!
