My Project

Hello generous donors!

I teach kindergarten in a Title One district located in the Northeast corner of Connecticut.

Specifically, I work in a inclusion room, where I am dedicated to providing my students with a nurturing and enriching learning environment.

The objective of my current project is to equip my classroom with educational and enjoyable puzzles. Puzzles offer a multitude of benefits for kindergarteners, making them an invaluable educational tool.

One of the primary reasons puzzles are beneficial for young learners is their positive impact on fine motor skills. Many of my students require support in this area, and manipulating puzzle pieces can significantly enhance their hand-eye coordination. These skills are crucial for tasks such as writing, cutting, and drawing, which are foundational for academic success.

Additionally, puzzles offer excellent opportunities for language development and social interaction. Engaging in conversations about shapes, colors, and spatial relationships while working on puzzles promotes vocabulary growth and strengthens communication skills. Furthermore, puzzles encourage teamwork and cooperation as students collaborate to solve them. They learn important social skills such as taking turns, sharing, and problem-solving together.

Unfortunately, the current wooden puzzles in my classroom are outdated and in poor condition. Some have sharp wooden slivers due to wear and tear over the years, posing a safety hazard to my students. Others have faded colors, making them less engaging and appealing to young learners.

By supporting my project, you will enable me to replace these old puzzles with new, high-quality ones. Your contribution will allow me to provide my students with fun and stimulating puzzles that will enhance their learning experiences and support their development across various domains.

Thank you for considering my project. Your generosity will make a significant difference in the lives of my students.
