My Students
Our high school students are from a school that is over 71% free and reduced lunch, which indicates our economic status. Our school is in a small rural community located in the Ozark Mountains in North Central Arkansas. Our students come from various economic and ethnic backgrounds which creates a melting pot in our community.
EAST students use their skills in technology to help solve or assist in various needs that exist in their school and community.
However, due to the economic status of our school and our community, their resources are very limited. Not having the equipment, software or resources to meet some of these needs makes it frustrating to the students. Our students always try to find a way to meet their goals, but having the proper resources would really help build their confidence in taking on bigger and more challenging projects.
My Project
Having this up to date equipment will open several doors that can add a variety of details to existing and upcoming projects. By adding the concept of photography to our projects will allow my students to tell the story behind the story.
By using this camera and up to date software will increase their knowledge and expand their creative skills, so that they can carry this with them beyond graduation.
Photography can be used to not only tell a story, but help create and preserve memories. My students can go out beyond the walls of our classroom into the community and find ways to help with the use of photography.
