This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Youth mental health is a top priority across the nation. At LACHSA, one out of four students are reporting suicidal ideation. Our students set a high standard for themselves and push themselves academically and with their artistic talent. Mental health awareness and education is an important first step to helping students. We recently got a Wellness Center project funded and are greatly appreciative. Our Wellness Center will allow our students who are feeling stressed or emotionally dysregulated to practice self-regulation and coping skills so that they can return to learning with minimal disruption.

Help us to continue promoting mental health awareness, services available, and to provide more mental health events on campus.

We are in need of speakers and a microphone to help host mental health events on campus during lunch and break!
