Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Teachers have a responsibility to prepare students for a world that doesn't even exist yet. In order to do this, we must prepare students for all possibilities of their futures.
My students are bright, creative young minds with a goal to change the world!
They embody a variety of cultures including Native American, Marshallese, Latino, European, Asian, and African American. Along with cultural differences, 85% of them also live in poverty, and many are first and second generation immigrants. More than 50% are struggling in academics.
My Project
These photography resources will help my students to become better photographers. Many of my students are interested in photography and enjoy being creative and artistic.
However, they lack the basic equipment and skills required for taking quality photos.
The National Geographic Photography Book for Kids and the photography quick reference cards will help my students to learn these skills and about many types of cameras. Although it might not seem necessary, most professional photographers agree that a tripod is critical to taking high-quality photos. We are lucky enough to have a backdrop but need a stand to use with it.
These resources will help my students develop the art of photography and may just inspire their future career!
