My Students

“There are many little ways to enlarge your world. Love of books is the best of all.” – Jacqueline Kennedy. My students enjoy reading. They love our read aloud time together, most of all!

My fourth graders are certainly a curious bunch of children.

They want to learn which is more than any teacher can ask for! They are constantly looking for new challenges. In fact, they get excited when I challenge them to learn new things. They are all goal setters.

Our school's greatest characteristic is its positivity and the overwhelming belief that all students can achieve. Creating great readers is our mission and creating book lovers at this level will undoubtedly give our students the power to succeed in their school endeavors and in life.

My Project

These books are intentionally chosen to be whole class read alouds. We will explore them together, probably a few times, and use them as examples for our reading and writing work. They will give us a common ground to explore deeper thinking skills like determining theme across a text, inferring, and comparing multiple texts.

These books were chosen with care.

They are light hearted, but deep thinkers. They explore themes such as being kind, being yourself, and knowing what to do when times get tough. I'm hoping these books will not only help us with our reading skills, but help grow our own character.
