This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our high school is seeking funding to enhance our physical education program by introducing pickleball, a popular and inclusive sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis. Pickleball is well-suited for students of all fitness levels and abilities, promoting teamwork, coordination, and cardiovascular health. The primary goal of this grant is to acquire pickleball equipment, including paddles, balls, and nets, to offer students a dynamic and engaging physical education experience. At our early college high school, students are diligently pursuing not only their high school diplomas but also Associate’s Degrees from the local community college.

A significant proportion of our student body comes from low-income households, and many are the first in their families to embark on a college journey.

The introduction of pickleball will positively impact our students by providing them with a new and exciting way to stay active. This sport aligns with our commitment to promoting diverse physical activities that contribute to the overall well-being of our students.
