My students were thrilled when they walked into Drawing Club and saw that instead of computer paper and #2 pencils, we had real art supplies. They love the colored pencils and artist's sketch paper, and the markers are also a hit for coloring and art projects. We put giant paper on the tables and students gather around to work on group drawings and doodles. Other students have personal sketchbooks and projects, and access to quality art supplies is something that I know they truly appreciate.\r\n\r\nI also host a stress relief and relaxation club, and when the students saw the collection of play-doh and kinetic sand, they were so excited. These tools, along with the fidget toys and craft kits, provide a way for my students to unplug from the stress of the week and focus on mindfulness. This club is usually a quiet sanctuary and, since it's at the end of the day, provides some closure to the week.\r\n\r\nOur school has a demanding curriculum, and our Friday clubs provide the social and emotional support that our students need in order to stay healthy and focused.
