Help me give my students the ability for them to grow the food that our class pets eat. These two Ponix Mini Hydroponic gardens will allow us to grow lettuce, cilantro, and bell peppers for the school year.
Our STEM lab specialist course is thriving, and we are eager to expand hands-on learning opportunities by creating our own sustainable food source! Recently, our classroom welcomed a pair of guinea pigs, sparking curiosity and excitement among our students. Through research and observation, they’ve developed an innovative idea—growing fresh, nutritious food for our classroom pets using a small hydroponic system.
By cultivating cilantro, lettuce, sweet peppers, and a variety of other vegetables essential for a healthy guinea pig diet, students will gain firsthand experience in sustainable agriculture, plant life cycles, and hydroponic science.
This project will not only provide fresh food for our furry friends but will also serve as a real-world application of STEM concepts, fostering creativity, responsibility, and environmental stewardship. Your support will help bring this student-led initiative to life, leaving a lasting impact on both our classroom and our students’ education!
