The variety of books I have selected will not only expand the students reading ability, it will also open them up to different genre's, settings, characters, and writing styles. The classroom plan is to establish a deeper love of reading not just because it is something they have to do, but because it is something they want to do. Reading can take someone to a new world, expand their imagination, expand their views on life, and allow a brief moment of relief from stress. Some children's lives are so filed with fear that they struggle as much as an adult. I want to provide them with an alternate world that does not have a fear that they cannot overcome.

About my class
