Over the past 10 days, we've already had two small harvests of romaine lettuce due to the overwhelming growth rate of the plants. The guinea pigs have been treated to fresh, crisp greens, and our students take great pride in knowing they played a direct role in growing healthy food for our classroom pets.\r\nBeyond just feeding the guinea pigs, the hydroponic system has given students a unique opportunity to see science in action. They are witnessing firsthand how plants grow in a soil-free environment, learning how nutrients and water cycles support healthy development, and observing the rapid changes from seed to harvest. The romaine lettuce has grown much faster than expected, sparking conversations about plant life cycles, environmental sustainability, and the benefits of hydroponic farming compared to traditional gardening.\r\nWhile the cilantro is taking longer to mature, it is growing steadily and has provided a great lesson in patience and observation. Students are eager to taste and share this herb with the guinea pigs once it's ready, and they are making predictions about when the next harvest will take place. Each day, they check on the plants' progress, measure growth, and record observations in their science journals.\r\nYour support has not only provided nutritious food for our guinea pigs but has also created meaningful, hands-on STEM learning experiences. Students are connecting what they learn in science class to real-world applications, practicing responsibility by caring for the garden, and seeing how their efforts make a difference. This project has truly combined science, sustainability, and compassion into one powerful learning opportunity, and we are so grateful for your generosity in making it possible.","fullyFundedDate":1752929251315,"projectUrl":"project/pick-the-piggies-menu/9369659/","projectTitle":"Pick the Piggies' Menu!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Jackson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3653852_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1466999897076","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3653852"},{"teacherId":3653852,"projectId":9136911,"letterContent":"Our T.S.
