My Students
Each day I come to class, my students remind me of why I think the world of them. I love getting to know them and what makes them tick. I enjoy watching them develop and grow into young adults on their educational journeys. One of the most rewarding things to witness is the excitement on their faces when they're doing something that is meaningful and brings them joy.
In addition to learning how to safely participate in various sports and activities, physical education class is a place where they set goals, learn how to work with others, exhibit appropriate ways to win and accept defeat, and so much more.
One of my jobs, as their physical educator, is to create an environment in which they want to be active, and teach them what to do when I'm not there to guide them.
My Project
The folders requested in this project will be distributed to each and every student in my classes. The markers will allow them to decorate their folders, illustrate ideas, and create colorful graphs that chart their progress. The labels will be used to display their names on the front cover. The stickers are for decorating the folders' covers and will also help distinguish folders from one another, making them easier for students to locate.
Individual portfolios will allow students to record, reflect, and learn the curriculum in personal and meaningful ways.
Students will be able to record their fitness marks, set goals, create personal fitness plans, and track their progress along the way. We will be able to perform quick-writes based on current events or quotes. Worksheets, articles, and diagrams can be added to the portfolios throughout the year, addressing standard topics as well as things like hygiene, nutrition, and positive self-image. The possibilities are endless!
