My Project

Cleaner Air in the library? Yes! Lots of great learning and organic conversations in the library about photosynthesis, growing plants, and soil nutrients? Yes! Science is so important to student learning goals, and in the library, we can reinforce that learning by growing live plants and using them to clean the air in our indoor space.

Unless our students internalize the idea that they can make a difference with their own practices and actions when it comes to the environment and cleaner air, there will be major consequences to our Earth which will effect future generations in ways that we cannot yet fully understand.

Helping my students learn this concept is one of my major library goals, and with this project I hope to continue to reinforce the idea that individual action can and does make a difference. My hope is that every high school student will leave this campus at graduation armed with the knowledge they need to help improve the situation in our environment. Thanks for considering my project!
