Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach art to high school students in DC public school in ward 4. My students are very special because they are able to be successful by any means. I want to make that success come just a little easier for them. I am here to ask for help to help me help.

My Project

During the pandemic we have found great value in digital art. I want my students to be able to work beyond their cell phones with professional equipment.

My students will use these cameras during distant learning as well as hybrid learning.

I want my students to find excitement with the materials and equipment and to feel pride that they are working with in a public school.

They will also use this equipment for their AP art studio portfolios. To achieve a 5 score I want to even the playing field for them. There is a sense of responsibility that comes with working with quality equipment.
