My school is located in Philadelphia. My kindergarteners come to school everyday excited and ready to learn! They know that our classroom is a safe and welcoming place. They love walking into their bright classroom and are eager to try new things everyday. Kindergarten is an important year of growth in reading, writing and mathematics but also as people.
My students are learning how to be an important part of our classroom and school community.
I love seeing how excited they are each day to learn something new!
My Project
During the first week of school, I take my students' pictures to be hung up in the room all year long. I take their picture on their birthday to be added to our Birthday Board. I take pictures of them doing things around the classroom to be posted as a reference for behavior and expectations in different areas. For example, if they need a reminder of what it looks like to read Independently, they just need to look at the chart with the pictures of their classmates reading Independently. I take their picture on the 100th Day of School and then again at the end of the school year. And many times in between!
My students love seeing photos of themselves around the classroom.
Also, my English Language Learners rely on pictures to help with their learning. However, I am not always able to print these photos right away. Having a photo printer in my classroom will allow me print photos right away for my students. The photo paper and ink will help get me started as soon as the materials arrive.
