Photo Journaling

My students need to practice photo journalism techniques and take photos for the school magazine. The tripod is needed for covering school events.

My Students

My journalism students are ambitious, curious, and news-driven. They are often excited to read and to learn about the latest digital trends in journalism. However, they are not able to use the technology necessary to fully develop as student journalists.

Most of my students are reared in single-headed households and cannot contribute any additional funds to buy supplies for our new journalism program.

For this reason, we are asking for your help in purchasing supplies to train students in multimedia.

My Project

Students who have enrolled in journalism plan to pursue photo journalism and visual storytelling in college, and they need to jump start this pursuit by gaining experience at school.

The donation would help eliminate any costs associated with contracting a photographer to supply photos.

Students will use the camera to cover school events such as sports, assembly, and student life for our magazine and Yearbook.

The experience will help them secure competitive internships for students of color in multimedia by allowing them to create portfolios of their work and by allowing them to compete with their peers at high resourced schools.
