Students who have enrolled in journalism plan to pursue photo journalism and visual storytelling in college, and they need to jump start this pursuit by gaining experience at school. The donation would help eliminate any costs associated with contracting a photographer to supply photos. Students will use the camera to cover school events such as sports, assembly, and student life for our magazine and Yearbook. The experience will help them secure competitive internships for students of color in multimedia by allowing them to create portfolios of their work and by allowing them to compete with their peers at high resourced schools.
