My Project

I am an interventionist for my school and I have the opportunity to work with students in every grade. I work with students K-6 and provide interventions in reading and in math. My students are resilient but are well below grade level and need interventions to help deepen their understanding. I love being able to work with them every day!

I need decodable books and other resources to help students deepen their understanding in reading.

Decodable readers are an important resource because they help students to access a text using decoding strategies that we are working on. Applying the strategy that we are working on in text is critical and we currently don't have access to a variety of texts at our fingertips. My students this year and in years to come will be able to access these texts to help strengthen their reading skills.

I have students who struggle with phonological awareness and letter names and sounds. The letter clips and alphabet soup tools will help my students in those areas. I plan on making reading tool kit boxes for students with some of the other resources I am requesting. Students will be able to use their tool kits to aid them in decoding and have access to several reading strategies right at their fingertips!

Every single grade has a reading standard to read grade level texts. Through the research based interventions that I am providing, students will get the instruction and scaffolding they need to help them access their grade level texts. The resources that I am requesting will help aid in that instruction and scaffolding. I know that these tools paired with my expertise, will help students have hands on materials that will help them become confident and successful readers.
