This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We need phonics practice! Phonics is such a fundamental skill to a student's success as a reader and my students need practice to reinforce their phonics knowledge.

My students are a group of 2nd graders that attend a Title I school in a Texas urban school district.

Many are still learning English and many more are on free or reduced lunches. Most importantly they love coming to school, learning and being in 2nd grade.

My Project

We are requesting phonics hot dot quiz cards and pens so my students get the phonics practice they need in a fun and independent way. Phonics skills are fundamental to reading and these quiz cards will allow them to practice and get feedback about their phonics skills and knowledge in an engaging way.

These hot dot quiz cards and pens will give my students the extra practice and reinforcement they need in their phonics skills which are so important to their reading and success as a student.
