Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are silly, active and big-hearted. They are part of our Bilingual program and are very passionate about learning a new language while staying true to their home language. They are mesmerized by books, enjoy discovering different methods to solve math problems, and of course, love taking classroom activities outdoors.
They are ready to take their academic skills to the next level with more hands-on activities.
By having more activities to learn a new language, entering new worlds through books, and simply having class materials for them to demonstrate their learning, my students will be able to become great leaders in and out of school.
My Project
These materials will help support students' English language development in the classroom. The sight word cards will engage students in actively building their vocabulary with a partner and in a small group. I will be able to further support students in their language development with the hands-on activities that will not only improve their decoding skills but also promote their writing abilities when they work in small groups.
