My kindergartners are curious, loving, and creative and I want to give them every opportunity to succeed in my classroom. I believe that the first couple of years in a child's education are crucial for getting them excited about school and learning.
My students come from very diverse cultures and languages.
Also, many of my students cannot afford basic necessities. They come to school for more than just academic instruction, but safety, acceptance and social skills.
At our school we want to do everything we can to give our students the best education possible, and best first steps in their academic careers.
My Project
In our phonics program, we have a class mascot, Mabel the Elephant. She helps my students learn their letters, sounds, sight words and so much more. Mabel also has three outfits to help us learn different skills. She has a lab coat, super hero headband and a graduation cap.
My students need these costumes too!
They want to be just like Mabel! She has been a great addition to our class and these costumes would help elevate my students engagement and excitement even more. When students are engaged in their learning, they are more likely to master the skills we are working on in our class.
