This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in a very low-income area in California. Many of the students come from families where one or both of their parents work at local farms. Many of their parents want the best for their children. They are very supportive of the school and the teachers! The area also contains a lot of kids in situations where there are a lot of mental health issues. The kids come with a lot of baggage but the students are great and impressionable. Most have never left their neighborhoods, so they are very excited to learn about other places and things. I love this group of kids! They need positive influences in their lives and I am very excited to be one of those contributors. These kids are smart and need to be shown how to be successful. A little bit of love goes a long way!

My Project

As we are coming back to school after Christmas break, we need hand sanitizer and masks to stay safe. These materials will ensure that we can stay healthy and safe during the day while at school. Germs are everywhere and our hands pick up a lot of germs, but these resources can help us with staying in school to learn all we can. The students are very conscientious about health and safety and want to be at school daily. Please help my students stay safe with all the Covid out there!
