Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Getting children ready for their future inevitably involves exposing them to as much technology as possible. My school has a cart of Chromebooks that I try to use regularly.

My students are full of curiosity and eager to learn, especially if that learning has anything to do with technology!

Attending this conference would give me a fresh new set of ideas to keep interest high and ways to use technology to help my students retain the skills and information that they are taught. So far this year we have completed projects using Google Classroom, Google Docs and Google Slides. These have been integrated with our Writer's Workshop. One of the most beautiful things that I have seen my students gain through these experiences is that while typing or learning a new software might be difficult they can do it with practice! By attending this conference, I will be inspired to continue giving my students these types of meaningful experiences.

My Project

The Spring CUE Conference will be 3 days of professional development and peer collaboration. My personal pedagogy aligns really closely with CUE's Mission Statement. For that reason, I would really like to attend this conference.

It will be an opportunity to immerse myself in new ideas that are at the core of what I believe education is all about: creating community, individualizing learning and ensuring educational access to all.

I will use the learning from this conference to plan lessons for my own classroom and to share with the rest of my school. Some of the the workshops that I hope to attend are about offering students more voice and choice, creating global citizens, socio-emotional development and Google Suite.
