Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My classroom is a Pre-K classroom consisting of 4-year-old boys and girls. Many of my students come from economically disadvantaged homes in the inner city of the largest urban school district in the state. The majority come from homes where English is a second language. The students and their parents manage to rise above it and come to school daily, ready to learn through play.
A typical day in our classroom is full of laughter and a sense of security.
My students look forward to the hands-on activities that help to foster a sense of community.
My Project
Our classroom is always evolving and changing as the childrens' interests change. With the Silhouette Cameo, we will be able to assist the students in making props (craft foam food) for use in the house area, signs for the various themes they choose for dramatic play, and letters and shapes for art projects.
Having the Silhouette Cameo will be a wonderful addition to our classroom and grade level.
It will allow us to create posters, letters, and gifts for special occasions for families, covers for class books, and personalized t-shirts for field trips. By donating to this project, you are helping not one class, but many more to come.
