Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our campus has water refill stations. Surprisingly, many of the students are not utilizing these because they do not own a flask or refillable water container.

In class, we are challenged with multiple requests by students to get a drink of water.

While water is a necessary resource and helps our body function better in all regards, some students may be using water breaks as an escape tactic, limiting their learning time and giving them an excuse to escape work demands. In other cases, students are sharing water bottles—allowing for the spread of germs and possible contraband.

These water bottles requested will be given to the students who had the most growth in their WIDA test and will be personalized using the mug press.
