My students are very energetic and enthusiastic children from many cultures. They are from a variety of different backgrounds and cultures. They have formed a "family" within our classroom. They do not exclude anyone, no matter who they are. They are full of wonder for everything around them. They have deep thoughts about every aspect of their lives and are open to new ideas. They laugh, sing, and enjoy anything that they can do with their hands!
They love receiving praise for anything, no matter how small it may seem.
They enjoy helping others and are more than willing to do so. Our school is in a high-poverty area, and we are in a small town near an Indian reservation.
My Project
We live in a high poverty area. The families of many of my students struggle to put food on their tables and cannot afford to purchase the supplies needed for at home learning.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, my students are unable to take supplies to and from school.
I am asking for a variety of resources and supplies that my students need for success. My students will be able to use the dry erase boards to practice the skills they learn in school and at home, in the event we move to remote learning. They will benefit from the notebooks, markers, highlighters and other supplies as well. They use these items daily to dive into texts and learn to take notes. They can keep notebooks at home in order to continue this practice when we are remote. This will allow them to continue their learning no matter where they are physically located.
