My scholars are some of the best 5th graders ever. I honestly never thought I could teach, let alone teach 5th grade, but once I met them I knew that being their teacher was the place for me.
My school and I believe in “teaching students”, not just “teaching lessons”.
As a campus one of our most fundamental point is "Believing and Showing that Everyone IS Someone!” I usually welcome very unique individuals to our classroom door each day. I strive daily to partner with my students to create lessons that cater to their abilities and learning styles.
I draw them in with my own enthusiasm and watch how their confidence in asking “WHY" has now become a natural course of action in our lessons together. I feel that seeking the “WHYs” in our class will carry them through the rest of their lives.
My Project
Personal Financial Literacy will be one of the most effective field-trips of all time!!! Our 5th Grade scholars graduate from elementary school this year and our goal is to embed lifelong learning skills in the form of real life experiences. This field-trip will assist our scholars in discovering the connection between the classroom Personal Financial Literacy lessons and Real World Financial Literacy lessons.
Our Scholars are truly amazing and will be in charge of financial growth, maintaining a budget while spending appropriately and experiencing the life long connections.
Personal Financial Literacy is all around us, even in the form of entertainment. Our goal is to offer opportunity and exposure as well as hands on experience developing a real world problem solving.
