Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a School Social Worker at a middle school in the heart of the South Bronx seeking funding for bedroom furniture for a student who finally moved to permanent housing!

We have a very special student at our school who finally has a permanent apartment, although they do not have any furniture, including a bed.

This life-changing event was so exciting for him that when he received the house keys to his new apartment, this student was walking around the school showing them off to every school staff member with a huge smile on his face that lasted the entire week!

Providing this child with a bedroom set will allow them to get the rest that is needed at night to perform his best during the school day academically and feel cared for by our school community.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
