Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Let my budding actors and actresses perform! We present a musical/play every Spring and our boombox is dying. We perform for the entire school (over 500 students) and our parents.
Many of my 4th graders are second language learners and/or on the free or reduced school lunch program.
These kids are great kids and really work hard to master 4th grade concepts. Performing arts is an area that allows kids who might not excel in other areas, to have a chance to release their inner performer and shine!
My Project
This mini sound system will allow my kids to be able to perform this year's musical/play for our school. The kids have learned the 10 songs for this year's musical/play which is called, "Gold Dust or Bust". There are 10 acting parts which the kids who are interested in performing learn and present on stage in between the songs of the musical. A sound system is CRITICAL for this performance to work. We will perform this musical/play in early June and need the sound system in order for our audience to hear all songs and speaking parts clearly!
I have been presenting a yearly performance for several years and I am always amazed at the talents of some of the kids you would least expect.
Some of these kids have struggled with the 4th grade curriculum the entire year but have the chance to now shine in a different area. I am convinced that future actors and actresses have been born during this annual presentation!!
