Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Students come to me as freshmen and train all the way through high school when they graduate as seniors at a Career and Technical High School. This type of high school is the first of its kind in my district.
My students are dedicated to learning about the culinary field, forgoing the chance to join band, sports or any other clubs.
My students earn dual credit and industry certifications to help them pursue a career in the culinary field. By the time they graduate high school they have the opportunity to earn an Associate's degree in Applied Science in Culinary Arts.
My Project
These culinary rulers are a great training tool for beginner knife users. It gives precise dimensions for all the classical culinary cuts and are used in the culinary field. Rulers like this are routinely given to college culinary students to help them develop consistent and correct knife cuts.
Students will be able to practice practical and classical knife cuts expected of a professional in the industry.
These rulers help prevent student developing bad habits because students can continually check their work in the culinary lab. They are specifically designed to be food safe and carry all the relevant reminders for beginner culinary students.
