My Project

I am very excited to begin the 2022 school year! My students are eager second graders who love learning about the world around them. One of the hardest things for them to learn, however, is about money and how it works.

My students often need direct, explicit instruction on the coins and their values; even once they know how to count change and dollar bills, they still struggle with the value of a dollar.

They truly believe that $100 is a fortune that will buy them a car, house, and a dog! A few years ago, we received the Osmo game, Pizza Co., which has students run a pizza place. Students need to purchase ingredients, take orders, make the pizzas correctly according to how "customers" ordered them, and make change based on payments.

My classroom has been a 1:1 classroom for several years, however the process to acquire the devices took so long that many of them no longer update to the newest operating system. This project will provide my students with an operational iPad to access this amazing game!
