My students really love when we are able to use the keyboards in class. We use them to learn the skills of playing a new instrument, to reinforce notation reading skills, for pattern recognition, sometimes for concert performances, and simply for the joy of making music! And as with any technology, I've had a few others break in the past, so it's wonderful to be able to replace our broken instruments and increase our quantity. This gives more students an opportunity to play, and allows them the choice over whether they want to share with a partner or work independently. The children worked in pairs (or groups of three) to assemble the blankets. This was very challenging for many of the children who didn't know how to tie a knot at the time. By working with their partner, they were able to create a project they were very proud of!\r\nLast Friday, we handed over the blankets to the Children's Organizer at the local hospital. The children were BEYOND proud to share their hard work and know that it will go to a child that needs a little pick-me-up. \r\nThank you for allowing my students to experience the act of doing an act of kindness for someone who they will never meet, simply because it is the kind thing to do.
