Remember how much you enjoyed coloring when you were in elementary school? Coloring is also necessary in high school. My students learn more about the cell when they are coloring the various parts to identify the specific structures. My students need help to include coloring in their classroom.
I teach earth science to energetic freshmen.
I want them to be as excited about the subject as I am. I incorporate as many hands-on activities as possible to keep the students' interest. When using activities I feel that my students learn more. Every student must pass earth science to graduate so I seek various ways to teach and cover the curriculum. I want all students excited about learning earth science.
My Project
My students will use the colored pencils to draw volcanoes to understand the various types and how they are structurally different. They will color the plant and animal cell to be able to visually understand how the cells function. They will create a brochure about the ocean and one about weather safety to explain a concept learned in class. When students create a brochure they are showing how much they have learned. They are being creative. My students enjoy the designing and coloring aspect also. This adds to the enjoyment of the class. I want my students to learn and have fun.
Thank you for reading my project.
I hope you will consider helping me to keep coloring in my high school curriculum to help my students remember the material, apply their knowledge and enjoy the class.
